Gratitude is a way to focus on the things that you do have, rather than the things you don’t have. I started with writing 3 things in a journal before bed and now my list is much longer. I also read what I wrote the next morning so I can start my day with an attitude of gratitude. 3 . Meditate. In our go, go, go world, meditation is a great way to calm the mind. Even as little as 10 min. a day can make a huge change in your life. Sit in a quiet space with your eyes closed and breathe. Let your thoughts pass through your mind without judg- ment and even if your mind stops on a thought (good or bad) just let the thought continue to float away without giving it any attention. The important thing is to continue to focus on your breath. I often do guided meditations using this free app 4 . Walk in Nature. Not only do you get to move your body which will move your vibration, but you get to enjoy the sunshine and the fresh air. You will get some of that precious vitamin D and as nature is inherently in perfect balance you will automatically start to feel better, and your vibrations will rise. If you can walk in the grass barefoot, that is a great way to get grounded and calm. 5 . Do something for others. Volunteer, write a letter to someone you love, pay for a stranger’s coffee, call someone you know that is having a hard time. It doesn’t have to be anything huge, just something that will make you feel good. 6 . Create a Morning Ritual. The ritual is completely up to you but the point of it is to start your day by empowering yourself and creating a habit to shape the positive, productive, and happy outcome of your day. This can be done in 5 minutes or an hour, it’s all up to you. You might do some stretching or yoga, a meditation, listen to an inspiring podcast or music. The important part of this is that you create a ritual that you do every morning so that you can ease into your day with purpose and intention and be assured that no matter what happens you have set yourself up for success.

You may think it is woo woo when someone talks to you about rais- ing your vibration but the truth is that from Einstein to Tesla, those in the field of physics were talking about frequency and vibration. Have you ever noticed when you are in a bad mood, or angry that you feel heavy and dark but when you are doing something you enjoy or have had something positive happen, you feel lighter and happier? That is the concept of vibration/frequency. Everything is composed of molecules that vibrate at different frequencies – animals, humans, trees, flowers, rocks, thoughts… In 1985 listening to Abraham-Hicks I learned that I could, just by being aware of my thoughts and feelings shift myself to a higher vibration. I recognized that if I was emitting negative energy, (thoughts/emotions/vibrations) I was attracting negative people and situations but, if I gently focused on moving to a higher emotion I felt better and everything around me was better too. It takes prac- tice, self-awareness, a willingness to stop controlling, and the abil- ity to allow. But it doesn’t have to be hard. For example, when my mom died my father was beyond depressed, he spent a lot of time at my house. Grief happens to be one of the lowest emotional vibrations and anyone who got near my dad could literally feel his sadness. As much as I wanted to help him, I knew he wasn’t going to try any of the techniques that had helped me. So, do you know what we did? We visited card shops, spending an hour, or so reading cards, sharing the funny ones with each other. I could feel his energy change. It wasn’t about him taking a quantum leap to being joyful only about helping him raise his vibra- tion a little at a time. The best part is that I found out that when he was back home, started to do that on his own. (The sudden influx of cards from dad was a giveaway) He had learned that something as simple as reading and sending funny cards made him feel better and he was choosing the better feeling. Wouldn’t it be great if we were emitting high vibrations all the time?
